Cartagena's fortress: The Rise of the Wall Part II
This tour can be done independently from the self guided tour part one . The voice of Antonio Arévalo, one of the fortress creators is your narrator on this special audio walk. He comes back in time to help you discover the city walls of Cartagena with special acommentary to get to know the wonders of military engineer that protected the city from pirate attacks. Your tour will begin right in front of the Bovedas, where you will learn how they were used from colonial times to republican jails and now display and sell artisan works from all over Colombia. You will walk on top of the wall, and discover the Santa Clara Bastion and spot the Gabriel Garcia Marquez house. Your narrator will ask you questions along the way and will make all the learnings from the architectural elements fun and exciting. You will listen to the poem of Daniel Lemaitre that inspired the monument that can be seen from that spot. The tour will lead you to walk to the Bastion of La Merced, San Carlos, Santa Cruz, Santo Domingo among others. You will learn the story of the submarine fortress and other legends as you enjoy a unique walk on top of the fortresses leading you to the last chapter in front of the famous Clock Tower.
