The Fall of the Wall
With the sounds of a mix of the news around the world on the day the Berlin Wall fell, this tour begins in Nordbahnhof , known as the Ghost Station. Guide yourself following the voice of your narrator that takes you to discover the stories of the Berlin wall with 3D sound effects. Your walk will take you to the Visitor Center of the Berlin Wall Memorial, where you will discover the "steet of tears", you can also learn about the window of remembrance, where you will see how the steel tubes emerging from the ground recreate the exact path the wall had. The memorial is a stretch of seventy meters of original wall, making it one of the most emotional places in Berlin, and a place to pay respect to the victims of this chapter of history. The walk continues taking you to the Documentation Center and The Viewing Platform where the narrator tells you the story behind Checkpoint Charlie, a scene of spectacular escapes from East Berlin, and especially tragic, unsuccessful escape attempts such as that of Peter Fechter. The tour ends in the last stop which represents forgiveness and resilience from the German people: The Chapel of Reconciliation.
