Walled City Architecture Tour
An elegant and distinguished character comes to life to take you on a journey to learn about the architectural gems of Cartagena. Your narrator for this soundwalk is Luis Felipe Jaspe, the creator of the famous tower clock and many other monuments of the city. The tour begins in a street named after him, where he points out the house were he used to live. He also shows you the house of his old neighbor, the famous poet known as the Tuerto Lopez. As you wonder around the city, you will get to see the highlights of the tower clock with special commentary. As you walk around at your own pace, you will discover the stories of the martyrs that were executed by Murillo as you walk the beautiful passage. You will understand Cartagena´s Republican past and discover the characteristics of colonial and republican architecture. Your tour leads you to Plaza of Proclamation, the inquisition street in parque Bolivar, and will point out other republican architecture gems in Cuartel street, and one of his masterpieces: the Adolfo Mejia theatre. The audio tour ends in Cabrero, in front of the Church another one of his works where Rafael Nuñez, former president of Colombia an author of the national anthem body rests.
