With the help of a local Chef you will discover Cartagena's flavours. In this workshop you will roll up your sleeves, put on an apron and cook. Join us and discover the Chef inside you!

Our classes:


1. Black Topside Beef Menu:

  • Mote de Queso: A delightful white soup made of yam and local cheese.
  • Posta Negra Cartagenera: Traditional black topside beef, served with a side of aromatic coconut rice, sweet plantains in temptation sauce, and a refreshing avocado ají.
  • Dessert - Tree Tomato in Syrup: A unique and sweet end to your meal.

Schedule:

  • Monday and Thursday: 10:30 AM - 1:30 PM
  • Tuesday: 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM 


2. Red Snapper Encocado Menu:

  • Carimañolas Trio: Prepare and enjoy three varieties of Carimañola – crab, cheese, and ground beef.
  • Red Snapper Encocado: Savor red snapper cooked in a rich coconut sauce, served with coconut rice and crispy patacones.
  • Dessert - Enyucado: Delight in a traditional cassava and coconut cake.

  • Tuesday and Saturday: 10:30 AM - 1:30 PM


3. Seafood Stew Menu:

  • Kibbeh & Baba Ganoush: Explore the Lebanese heritage in Colombia with these delicious starters.
  • Seafood Stew: Indulge in a hearty seafood stew garnished with coconut rice.
  • Dessert - Curuba Mousse: Enjoy a light and refreshing curuba (banana passionfruit) mousse.

  • Wednesday: 10:30 AM - 1:30 PM
  • Friday: 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM


4. Cabrito Fish Menu:

  • Arepa e’ Huevo: Start with a classic Colombian dish – a fried arepa filled with egg.
  • Cabrito Fish: Enjoy fish wrapped in bijao leaves, served with yuca gnocchi.
  • Dessert - Corn Leaf Wrapped Candy: End your meal with a traditional sweet treat wrapped in corn leaves.

5. Ceviches Menu:

  • Seabass Ceviche: Enjoy seabass ceviche with a banana emulsion and a hint of lemongrass.
  • Shrimp and Snails Cocktail: Delight in a unique cocktail of shrimps and snails.
  • Vegan Ceviche: Savor the tropical taste of ceviche made with fresh coconut, mango, and edible flowers.
  • Crunchy Calamari and Green Mango Ceviche: Experience a fusion of crunchy calamari and green mango, accented with corozo fruit and hibiscus.

6. Colombian Bakery Experience:

Dive into the sweet and savory world of traditional Colombian pastries with our Colombian Bakery Experience.

Menu:

  • Almojábana: Learn to make this soft and cheesy bread, a staple in Colombian bakeries.
  • Pan de Bono: Discover the secrets behind this delightful cheese bread made with yuca flour.
  • Roscones de Bocadillo: Bake these sweet bread rolls filled with guava paste, a true Colombian favorite.
  • Mogolla Chicharrona: Experience the unique flavor of this bread made with crispy pork rind.

7. Optional Visit: The Vibrant Mercado De Bazurto:

Enhance your cooking experience with an optional visit to the bustling Mercado De Bazurto. This lively market is a labyrinth of stalls offering a plethora of exotic fruits, spices, and local delicacies. As you explore, you'll have the opportunity to sample various fruits and drinks, immersing yourself in the rich culinary culture of Cartagena.

During the market tour, you'll learn about the diversity of exotic fruits and spices and their significance in Caribbean cooking. Gain insights into the importance of selecting top-quality ingredients and experience the local culture by choosing and bargaining like a true Cartagenero, including asking for the ñapa (the little extra).

After the market tour, we'll bring our fresh mercado finds back to the cooking studio, where your cooking class will begin. Under the guidance of our expert chefs, you'll transform these vibrant ingredients into traditional and delicious Cartagena dishes.
